Foodie Apocalypse

Foodie Apocalypse

Squash the beef
Don’t Stroganoff for keeps
Knuckle sandwiches
Filled to the brim
With menacing meats
Cold cuts
Designed to perfection
Hide the salami (In the belly of course after a nourishing meal)
With the best intentions
Organic is all the rage
Canines cut through the rations
The hunger fades
Spilt milk on a open platter
Alphabet soup spells out disaster
After the All Suns’ Dawn
In a bowl of dust
Farmers fight over the earth’s crust

    • I struggle with the concept of eating meat and although I falter from time to time I do believe the world would be a better place if we ended the slaughter of livestock and went to a more grass roots diet. Soylent for example is a great alternative that is much better for the environment. As a society we rarely talk about the psychological or agricultural damages that the livestock industry has on mother earth. This poem was an array of my emotional status towards the subject. I’m glad you enjoyed the freestyle it feels good to get it out there! Have a wonderful day Mia. Your poetry be mad creative yo!
